We are proud to receive this recognition, the result of a massive, coordinated effort involving government bodies, public and private institutions, associations, and dedicated professionals. All worked tirelessly toward transforming the animal health status of a country, home to a cattle herd over 220 million cattle, larger than its own population.
A special tribute goes to our colleagues at the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. Their commitment and determination were essential in reaching this important milestone. 👏👏👏👏
Brazil’s last recorded outbreak of foot and mouth disease was in 2006. Since then, the country has undergone a sweeping transformation in cattle farming—advancing in animal health and welfare, genetics, traceability, environmental and sustainability. Today, Brazil monitors not just livestock, but also land use and deforestation in the Amazon through satellite technology.
Brazil stands as a global powerhouse in agriculture, firmly committed to continuous improvement and to working alongside internationally recognised organisations to bring safe, sustainable, and high-quality food to tables around the world.
